ABC have confirmed that the final season of their hit TV show Lost will premiere in the US on Tuesday February 2nd with a two hour opener.
This is the sixth and final season of the hugely successful show that began in 2004 with forty people surviving a plane crash on a mysterious island.
The regular cast for season six was also released. Emilie de Ravin, who played Australian Claire Littleton in the first four seasons, will be returning to the cast after her absense during season five.
Other frequent guest stars have been promoted to regular status. These include Nestor Carbonell, who has played the ageless Richard since season 3, Jeff Fahey, who plays cynical pilot Frank Lapidus, and Zuleikha Robinson, who was introduced in season five as the mysterious Ilana.
