Water supply has been restored to Botany Bay residents, after a 30 minute-drought saw students left without access to water.
Residents across Botany were affected, as well as some buildings in the front of College. Some residents posted their concerns into Trinity’s on-campus Facebook group, with some students reporting a lack of water supply in New Square also.
Speaking to The University Times, Tom O’Malley, a resident of Botany Bay, said: “It was a bit confusing, but I was glad to see a rapid response from Trinity.”
The problem was resolved quickly, with water supply down for approximately 30 minutes. Speaking to The University Times, the Director of Estates and Facilities, Paul Mangan, confirmed that water supply should have returned.
Mangan attributed the problem to valves, citing low pressure, which caused a temporary break in water supply. Many residents of campus found taps and showers were no longer working.
This is the second pipe-related problem to afflict campus in recent weeks. Two weeks ago, students were forced to leave the Arts Block after a mysterious smell appeared, which seemed to be emanating from drains.
