Accents, Stephen’s St Lower
Accents is comfy, cosy, homey, and everything you need to be able to enjoy a hot chocolate and a chat into the late evening. A bit rough around the edges, Accents has a whole lot to offer. Family friendly, disability friendly, and providing free WiFi and a free book exchange, the comfy sofas are not the only thing it has going for it. Despite being a bit expensive, you’ll always be greeted with a smile and a great selection of muffins and cakes. Open until 11pm six days a week and until 10pm on Sundays, Accents isn’t one to be missed.
Lemon Jelly, Millenium Walkway
One of the less cosy and more contemporary late-night go-tos on our list, Lemon Jelly serves great food right through from breakfast to dinner opening until 9pm every night. Outdoor seating is available all year round, and at only a 10-minute walk from town this can sometimes be a bit of a quieter option, and ideal for after the library. With seating for about 130, you’d rarely struggle to be finding a seat in here! With a loyalty card provided, Lemon Jelly is a good option for regular coffee-lovers, or those who want lunch at dinner-time.
Dwarf Jar, Temple Bar
Dwarf Jar is the full package, including live jazz on Wednesdays, and flamenco and salsa music on Thursdays. They serve everything from fresh juice to wine, and tapas to sandwiches. This late-night haunt is always buzzing, but due to being so small it can be hard to find a seat – and when it gets super busy, even your glasses can steam up. Ideal on a Monday or a Tuesday, this is a great quirky spot for a late evening, staying open until 10pm every night.
Cafe Rubis, Parliament St
Parisien, classy, chic – the new Cafe Rubis has an awful lot going for it. As the place is pretty new, hours are limited, but as they’re hoping to open from lunchtime as soon as next week! Although they technically stop serving coffee around 8pm, they stay open until 11pm between Wednesday and Sunday, leaving you plenty of time to nurse your coffee and have a chat. They serve baked goods, wine, meatboards and cheese boards until close, and provide an ambience to rival Le Petit Parisien. Attentive staff, plush surroundings and a variety of food, with jazz on the weekends – ideal for a first date or a coffee date.
Starbucks, Stephens Green
Always a classic, trusty Starbucks won’t leave you thirsty day or night! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and modern glass walls, this Starbucks on the green is an old faithful at any hour.
