As thousands of potential students prepare to arrive in Trinity on Saturday for its annual open day, the College has launched a new app to ensure that those attending get the most from the day.

The app, which is available to both Apple and Android users, aims to assist prospective students in organising and personalising their schedule for the open day. The event guide section of the app contains sub-categories dividing the range of presentations on offer by each of Trinity’s schools, as well as offering a guide to the various events in Trinity. Another section features a Google Map for campus, enabling students to easily navigate their way to and from events.

Users have the ability to set reminders at desired times for specific presentations and events. Further sections link to the official website, Trinity’s social media platforms and a photo album.

The app was developed by Guidebook Inc, an American company that specialises in developing apps focused on sharing event information with attendees. It previously created apps for several other universities, including the University of St Andrews and the University of California, Berkeley.

All undergraduate programme areas are to be represented on the day with over 175 presentations and events set to take place. The College is expecting to welcome almost 10,000 visitors to the open day over the course of Saturday, with events scheduled from 9am to 3.30pm.
