Students and staff travelling to College from counties with a red weather warning should stay home tomorrow, Trinity has said.
College campus will open as normal tomorrow unless Met Éireann upgrades Dublin’s Storm Eunice weather warning to red.
In an email to staff and students this evening, Interim Chief Operating Officer Orla Cunningham and Director of Campus Infrastructure Mike Clarke said that students should check their email regularly for updates.
Information will also be posted on the College website.
The email added: “If the county from which you are travelling is under a Red warning, please stay at home and inform your line manager/lecturers why you cannot attend campus.”
In December of last year, Trinity closed its campus for one day due to a red weather warning for storm Barbara.
Schools, colleges and early education services in nine counties have been ordered to close tomorrow, as Storm Eunice is set to bring a “multi-hazard” weather event, according to the government’s crisis management team.
The National Emergency Co-Ordination Group met today ahead of the arrival of the storm system, which is forecast to bring damaging winds, sleet, rain and “blizzard-like” conditions from early tomorrow morning.
Status red wind warnings have been issued for Cork, Kerry, Clare and Waterford, while status orange weather warnings will be in effect for several other counties.
