The Trinity College Dublin (TCD) Cancer Society have announced the launch of their 16th annual Naked Calendar on February 14th via an instagram post, the proceeds of which will go towards the Irish Cancer Society.
Following National Daffodil Day, the Naked Calendar’s release is Cancer Soc’s biggest day of the year, according to the society.
The Calendar will consist of 12 pictures featuring members of 12 different societies posing nude. This year’s calendar will feature members of the Phil, Trinitones and Law Society among others. While the exact contents of the pictures have not yet been revealed, a spokesperson for the society revealed in an email to The University Times that each society involved will be paired with a month accordingly with their identity. For example, the surf society will be given a summer month.
“What we love most about doing the calendar every year is how it brings Trinity students together” Christina Pitt, this year’s organiser of the Naked Calendar stated. “We hope that everyone who buys it on Friday enjoys it all year long, knowing they’re making a big difference in the battle against cancer!”
The release of this year’s Naked Calendar follows on the heels of one of Cancer Soc’s most fruitful years, having won the “Best Small Society” of the year award and raising 11,000 euro for cancer, according to their website.
The launch will take place at the Pavilion Bar this Friday, where students will be able to buy the calendar for 12 euro, with a 2 euro discount for the models. They will also be selling cancer pins and raffle tickets with prizes.
