Tony Keohane, a former Chief Executive of Tesco Ireland, has been appointed by the Minister for Education and Skills to the College Board.

A graduate of Trinity College Dublin, Keohane was appointed by the minister last month, and his appointment was noted at today’s board meeting. An appointment by the minister is required as part of the Trinity College Dublin Act 2000.

Throughout his career, Keohane has held a number of prominent executive positions in Ireland and the UK. He was the CEO of Tesco Ireland from March 2006 until July 2013, when he became chairman of the company. He resigned from that position in July 2015. Currently, Keohane is Chairman of the MarketHub Advisory Board, a Cork start-up that analyses sales data for small and medium sized retailers.
