This Halloween, Film Fatale invites you to embrace a dark and gothic Prohibition era experience. On Sunday, October 29th, at 8pm, the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) in Kilmainham will be transformed into a frightfully glamorous world. “Prohibition: The Beautiful and the Damned”, in association with the Bram Stoker Festival, promises to deliver the 1920s you know and love, with a bizarre and bewitching twist.
To experience the era in all its ghoulish glamour and glory, Film Fatale asks you to dress the part, so whether you want to flaunt your inner flapper or gangster or pay homage to the stars of the 1920s horror and silent films, the choice is yours. This fancy dress party has become one of the biggest in Europe since its 2011 beginnings in The Sugar Club. Parties of the past are what Film Fatale do best, and this Halloween the 1920s era meets the horrors of the underworld.
There will be plenty of events happening on the night, including the frightful flappers and fan dancers who will take to the stage for a macabre dance show. Or how about trying the Guys and Ghouls speed dating? In the Parlour Room, the Bram Stoker Festival will terrify and excite with its ghost stories and live performances. You can dance the night away to a live ragtime band or spend the night at the Monster Mash-Up, where vintage tunes meet new hits played by the electro-swing DJs.
With strange happenings assured throughout the night and punch bowls filled with blood red gin, allow yourself to be immersed in this spooktacular parade of the beautiful and the damned. To experience the darker side of the 1920s in all its gothic glamour, be sure to purchase tickets through their Facebook event page.
