Emma McCarthy has been elected as the next Chair of Trinity Publications.
McCarthy is Online Editor of Trinity News and was Public Relations Officer for Trinity Publications.
The chair of Trinity Publications oversees the body of publications that includes Trinity News and literary journal Icarus. It is one of the five capitated bodies in College.
McCarthy got elected over current Treasurer of Trinity Publications, Carla King-Molina.
Sorcha Ní Cheallaigh was elected Treasurer, while Alden Mathieu was elected Secretary. Lauren Boland is the new Amenities Officer, while Stacey Wrenn was elected Public Relations Officer. Alice Whelan was elected Alumni Officer.
The other capitated bodies are DU Central Athletic Club (DUCAC), Trinity College Dublin Students’ Union (TCDSU), the Graduate Students’ Union (GSU) and the Central Societies Committee (CSC).
Trinity Publications has had a tumultuous year that saw its current Chair Clare McCarthy abruptly ousted before being re-instated last month. Emma McCarthy was one of the people who proposed the no-confidence motion against Clare McCarthy.
