The University Times can reveal that The 2 Bears and LXURY are to be included in the Trinity Ball 2015 line-up.

The 2 Bears, a British duo from London composed of Joe Goddard of Hot Chip and Raf Rundell of 1965 Records, is known for dressing up in elaborate costumes like bear suits and including drag when performing. The duo have received radio support in the UK from Fearne Cotton, Nick Grimshaw and Annie Mac and have played at Casa Bacardi at Electric Picnic and performed last November 1st in Opium Rooms.

They will be joined by London producer LXURY, AKA Andy Smith, who released his debut EP on Disclosure’s label Method Records. Speaking to Wonderland Magazine about his EP Playground he stated “The aim was to definitely make it dance-y but it’s not like an EP made over a weekend for people just to dance to, rave or whatever. I wanted it to be listenable as well”. LXURY has already received support from top music media outlets including NME, Pitchfork, and BBC Radio 1.

Trinity Ball has been criticized in recent years for the increasing emphasis placed on electronic acts, with these acts continuing that legacy. However, whether or not this year will follow that trend will not be revealed until the announcement of the full lineup on Sunday February 15th

The ball takes place Friday April 17th on Trinity campus. The 2015 ball will run two weeks later than normal, falling a week before exams, as the usual date falls on Good Friday and College does not stages on campus during Trinity Week. Tickets are to go on sale February 18th online and in Students’ Union shops.
