A dispute has broken out between Jeremy Corbyn MP and Zarah Sultana MP regarding their newly formed political party, which is provisionally being called “Your Party” until a permanent name can be decided on.

“Your Party” was announced in July 2025 as a new left-wing British political party by Jeremy Corbyn, the former leader of the Labour Party, who now sits as an independent in the UK Parliament, and by Zarah Sultana, another former Labour Party member, who also now sits as an independent in the UK Parliament.

On Thursday, September 18th, Zarah Sultana sent an email to people who had signed up to “Your Party” announcing the creation of a membership portal, where supporters could become members of the party upon paying a £55 membership fee. Sultana announced on Thursday that they have had 20,000 people sign up through this membership portal.

In response, Corbyn and 4 other MPs released a statement saying that the email was “unauthorised” and that legal advice was being sought. Corbyn also urged supporters that any direct debits that supporters set up should be cancelled. In a separate statement, Sultana asserted that she had been “sidelined” by Corbyn, calling it a “sexist boys’ club” and said that she had been “effectively frozen out of the official [party] accounts”. She continued, stating that Corbyn’s statement “has misrepresented the situation”.

In a subsequent statement released by “Your Party”, it was announced that the problems had been reported to the Information Commissioner’s Office, and that Sultana “has not been excluded from any decisions”.

In the 24 hours since this dispute broke out, the Green Party of England and Wales’ membership has reportedly grown by 1,400 people. The party membership now stands at 75,000, which represents a 10% increase in membership since Zack Polanski won the contest to be their leader at the start of the month.

It has been reported that the party’s founding conference, set to take place in November, is still going forward despite the current issues the party has been facing.

This is a developing story.
