Over 150 people have gathered outside of the Department of Justice for a “Let Them Study” protest following the denial of student visas to Gazan scholars.

The protest started at 11:00 am and featured representatives from Trinity, including Trinity College Dublin Students’ Union (TCDSU) Officers President Amy Kennedy, Education Officer Eve Martin, and Irish Officer Mary Kate Ní Artáin. Trinity Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions (BDS) Chair, Seán Radcliffe, and Aontas na Mac Léinn in Éireann (AMLÉ) President Daniel Walsh were also in attendance.

Speakers continually highlighted that students had “earned their place”, having met the necessary qualifications for student visas in Ireland.
