On August 30th, Trinity College Dublin’s sailing club participated in an international yachting competition, the club’s first in over two decades, to compete for the fourth David Haw Memorial Trophy. Braving harsh conditions that had threatened to cancel the event entirely, Trinity came in 7th place out of 16 participating clubs, with the club having several top 3 finishes. With this historic inclusion, Trinity became the first Irish University to compete in the UK keelboat fleet in over 20 years. This upcoming weekend, Trinity Sailing will go to Hamble, England, where the British Keelboat Nationals are slated to begin tomorrow, 19 September.
