The motion on an International Student Handbook was proposed by International Officer Aman Bansal, and seconded by Trinity College Dublin Students’ Union (TCDSU/AMLCT) President Grace McNally. Bansal noted the lack of a structured document providing international students with crucial information to settle into their lives in Ireland. The motion passed.

The motion mandates the creation of a handbook tailored toward international students who may face difficulties adjusting to life in Ireland. It is intended to comprise practical guidance and information on subject areas such as immigration procedures, housing rights, working in Ireland, academia, and culture. Moreover, it will outline information on how to avail of healthcare services and other supports. The motion mandates the digital availability of the handbook to students, and its annual review and amendment.

More of a third of the student body in Trinity is from outside Ireland, according to 2023 figures.
