Four Trinity Students Awarded With the John F Chambers Lennox Bursary

The award marks the 30th year Trinity students were granted bursaries to help with their study expenses

On the 18th of February four Trinity science students were awarded the Lennox bursary award, which is sponsored by Lennox Laboratory Supplies Ltd T/A Lennox.

To acknowledge their prowess in their academic success, Niamh Jordan (Neuroscience), Avaania Kapoor (Biological and Biomedical Sciences), Naomi Bennett (Geology), and Conor Mannion (Biochemistry) were each granted €1,904.60 to help them to continue their studies.

This marks the 30th anniversary of the Bursary. The CEO of Lennox, Leslie Brett, stated that the bursary is “an important milestone, reflecting the long-standing commitment of the company in investing and supporting the next generation of researchers and professionals.”

Professor Stephen Smith, who is a senior tutor at Trinity, commented that “financial support of this kind enables students to focus on their academic development and fully engage with their studies.”

John F. Chambers was a mature student from Sligo who helped pay for his studies by working at night. The award is named after him.

Lennox Laboratory Supplies Ltd was founded in Dublin in 1923 and currently operates in numerous technical sectors such as bioprocessing and medical devices. In 2025, they received the Supply Chain Achievement Award, and they have also won numerous other honours such as being one of the Best Workplaces in Pharma and Healthcare.
