By 2:10, thousands had already gathered for Trans and Intersex Pride at Dublin City Hall. The event, organised by Trans Pride Dublin, was held at Dublin City Hall on Dame Street and featured speakers including former Trinity College Dublin Students’ Union President Jenny Maguire. Speakers called for the abolition of the National Gender Service, the end of intersex genital mutilation, and solidarity with Palestine. The event also included pop-up pin, poster, and book swaps.

In a statement on Instagram, Trans and Intersex Pride Dublin said, “Trans & Intersex Pride Dublin has always been a political protest; we are openly and proudly anti-capitalist. We are not only fighting for the liberation of trans and intersex people, but for the liberation of us all! Our commitment to building a militant grassroots movement hasn’t changed. What has changed is the amount of support we have reached. Year after year, our march has gotten bigger showing the real appetite for a liberation movement that fights back.”

Volunteers in Hi-Vis surrounded the area, handing out masks and directing joiners to different areas while guards attempted to move traffic.

During the day, smaller groups of Pride attendees could be seen heading to Dublin City Hall down Capel Street and other pedestrianised areas.

Right behind the event on Parliament Street, Dublin City Council hosted a circus event that was much smaller, but moderately well attended.
