The Trinity College Dublin Students’ Union (TCDSU) have begun a campaign to encourage students to register to vote in time for the European and Ireland’s local and national elections.

University Council has approved the application process and evaluation criteria for the new Trinity Research Doctorate Award for a student of sanctuary, to begin in 2024/25.

The organisation’s demands include worker’s rights, payment of a living wage, respect and fair treatment.

In a statement released this afternoon, TCDSU calls for “this hypocrisy to be remedied”.

Students allege that Palestinian flags were removed by Trinity’s security, entering accommodation without notice.

Bursaries of 500 euro approximately will be put in place for students from underrepresented groups studying for the Foundation Scholarship exams.

Several Trinity student residents spoke to The University Times to highlight the issues incurred due to the lack of proper tenant protections, such as College’s “paternalistic” overnight guest policies and concerns over security, autonomy and living conditions on campus.

Trinity College Dublin Students’ Union has unveiled its inaugural bilingual logo, featuring acronyms in both English and Irish, emphasising a commitment to promoting the Irish language within the college community.

During the afternoon of Wednesday, November 29th, students and societies were asked to remove Palestinian flags hanging from their windows in Front Square and outside Front Gate by security.
