Yesterday, Healthy Trinity announced that it would begin providing free nicotine replacement therapy and launching a “STOP SMOKING STOP VAPING SUPPORT GROUP”. The initiative is in collaboration with the Health Service Executive (HSE). The six week support programme starts on Monday 12th October at College Health in Printing House Square.

The course outlines “readiness to stop, dealing with cravings, the pros and cons of stopping and using patches or nicotine replacement therapies.” They also note free Nicotine Replacement Therapy (for example, patches) from the HSE).

In their release, Healthy Trinity wrote “Trinity would very much welcome strong governmental restrictions to ban vaping as a means of supporting all in our mission to work towards facilitating healthy people on a healthy planet.”

This initiative represents a natural continuation of the college’s attempts to curb vaping on campus, having introduced a vaping ban last year (and celebrating with a piñata).
