“The Odyssey” (Christopher Nolan, 2026)
The blockbuster of the summer, Christopher Nolon’s Homeric ode has stunning cinematography, a roster of star actors, and a stirring, thunderous score. Sadly the film’s beautiful aesthetics can’t cancel out a script that is at times as wooden as the Trojan Horse, and the muddled ending does nothing to resolve matters.
“Sterling Point” (Megan Park, 2026 – present)
Director Megan Park perfects the teen drama in Prime Video’s most recent foray into the matters of the teenage heart. A picture-perfect script, a remarkable supporting cast, and a superb soundtrack make Annie’s uncovering of family secrets on a small Canadian island a must-watch.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” (Destin Daniel Cretton, 2026)
Peter Parker remains as lovable as ever in his latest MCU outing; another entertaining romp with fast-paced action, plot twists, and lots of heart.
The most mature of the franchise yet—Parker has finally reached adulthood— the film handles its newfound gravitas well, keeping the elements fans love while allowing Spidey and his world to evolve.
“Not Suitable for Work” (Mindy Kaling, 2026 – present)
Failing to capture the candor of “Friends” or the uproarious relatability of “Adults”, Mindy Kaling’s new Disney+ project following twenty-somethings finding their way in New York falls flat. Only occasionally funny, these strange Gen Z/Millennial hybrids live in insanely nice apartments, suffer from a dearth of real world problems, and communicate in cringey dialogue.
