As we enter the latter half of one of the busiest and most exciting weeks of the year, thoughts of lectures and assignments have possibly come sweeping through your mind. Fend off such thoughts and indulge yourself in some of the final events freshers’ week has to offer.

History Walking Tour:

Join DU History at Front Arch at 12.50pm for a Historical Walking Tour of Dublin. Tour guide Denny O’Brien will lead you around to see some of the city’s best hidden gems as well as Dublin’s most famous monuments in what is sure to be a fascinating and enjoyable event for all you history lovers out there. Any newcomers to Dublin, the tour is a great way to get to know the city and its culture.

Thrift Shop Crawl:

Du Environmental Society (EnviroSoc) and Trinity Global Development Society come together once again for their thrift shop crawl across the city. Bent on promoting sustainable shopping, the event will give you an insight into the most fashionable and exciting thrift shops around campus. The group will be meeting outside House Six at 2pm today, offering you a chance to opt out of fast fashion’s polluting industry.

The Devil Wears Prada:

Having unleashed your inner fashionista at the Thrift Shop Crawl, indulge it some more with Trinity Fashion Society (Fashion Soc) screening of The Devil Wears Prada. Being screened in the Eliz Rooms, House Six, at 6pm, the movie will perfectly set the tone of any night out. The film, considered a classic by many, is sure to be a good laugh as will the game-filled reception organised for beforehand.

Mamma Mia Quiz:

DU Quiz Soc, the College Historical Society (the Hist) and Trinity Vincent De Paul (VDP) are coming together to stage what is bound to be an intense quiz at Doyles this evening at 8pm. Channel your inner Donna, get rehearsing that “Dancing Queen” routine and be sure to have those “Waterloo” lyrics on hand for the Mamma Mia and musical themed quiz. Prizes are promised for worst Mamma Mia puns – an opportunity too good to pass up.

Chowder, Powder, Louder:

DU Surf Club, DUDJ and DU SnowSports are coming together once again for their annual freshers’ night. Taking place in Turks Head, the night will be kicking off at 10pm. While chowder may not be a guarantee, the groups promise a loud night with DUDJ taking over the music. Tickets are available online and at the Trinity Ents, Surf club, DUDJ and DU Snowsports stands in Front Square.
