Michael McInerney Withdraws from Communications and Marketing Officer Race

McInerney’s withdrawal leaves three candidates: Connor Dempsey, Sarah Murnane and Beth Strahan.

Final-year English Studies student Michael McInerney has withdrawn from the Communications and Marketing Officer race in the upcoming Trinity College Dublin Students’ Union (TCDSU) sabbatical elections. 

This leaves the race with three candidates — Connor Dempsey, Sarah Murnane and Beth Strahan.

Dempsey is a final-year Philosophy, Political Science, Economics and Sociology (PPES) student and the current TCDSU Engagement Officer.

Murnane is a final-year History and Political Science student, the current Film & TV Editor for The University Times and the Culture Editor at Misc. magazine. She has stepped down from her role at The University Times for the duration of the campaign period. 

Strahan is a final-year Drama and Theatre studies student and a previous director of Trinity Musical Theatre.

The campaign period will begin on Monday, February 19th, commencing with the Dining Hall Hustings. Voting will take place from February 27th until February 29th and the results will be announced that evening.
