Olena Zelenska, First Lady of Ukraine and wife to current Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, will visit Trinity College’s Old Library today alongside Mary Martin, wife of Taoiseach Micheál Martin.
Several traffic restrictions across Trinity campus, including barriers located across Front Square, were set up to accommodate security measures for the two women. Garda patrols have also begun across campus ahead of the visit.
As part of their tour, Martin and Zelenska will also visit the Book of Kells and sign the visitors book, signed by many previous VIP guests on campus.
Several traffic disruptions and cordons have also been set up throughout the city in advance of the Ukrainian President’s tour of Ireland, such as on Chesterfield Avenue in Phoenix Park.
The visit comes as the Taoiseach announced 125 million euro in new financial support to Ukraine, including rebuilding infrastructure and non-lethal military support.
