Storm Éowyn, which is predicted to hit the Dublin area starting from 6 am and extending until midday, has been warned to be one of the “most severe” storms in recent Irish history.

Irish rail warned of “major disruptions” to rail services and other agencies predicted major power outages and severe damage to property. Transport for Ireland said on X (formerly Twitter) that “public transportation does not operate in a red warning” and warned the public to “expect significant disruption to services”.

Met Éireann advised members of the public to take measures to protect their property on Thursday, and be particularly vigilant when travelling to work on Friday morning.
