The air is getting crisp, the Freshers flu is creeping up on you. It’s official: September is here, and so is your debut as a Trinner. You might be feeling lost or maybe a little overconfident. Either way, do not fret — the stars are here to make sure you don’t end Michaelmas term plastered all over Tringe. Read on to find out your Fresher dos and don’ts for September!

Aries

You’re starting the month off strong — Mars in Cancer slams into Saturn in Aries on September 1st. Some frustrating situations might be on the horizon — whether it’s the seagulls stealing your lunch or the Luas deciding not to run past Stephen’s Green, you’re in for a treat. Don’t let this get to you, though! The Full Moon in Aries is awaiting you on September 26th, and nothing is off-limits. Get ready for confrontation and catharsis (something tells me you’ll find it upstairs in Doyle’s!). Whatever you do, please don’t look for it in the DCU lot …they’ve been through enough.

Taurus

This month, a new bombshell has entered the Arts Block. Mercury enters Libra on September 10th, and you’ll be in high demand, so take some advantage! Try getting in with the DU Snow Sports crowd — maybe come January you’ll get that ski trip sponsored. Just don’t get too wrapped up in all that snowing — the Full Moon will have you needing some time alone. When campus life gets a bit much, the fifth floor of the Ussher will be there for you with all of its olfactory overload. It’s really all the rage!

Gemini

September will be all about healing and being gentle with yourself. Your fear of the Hamilton bathrooms is entirely justified. Take it easy. D2 cannot hurt you if you don’t let it. It’s okay to not make it out of pres three times in a row. The Fall Equinox on September 22nd will have you focusing on forming a community. Maybe it’s okay to go back to D2 after all… Maybe they get commission off those rounds of shots… Take it one step at a time.

Cancer

It’s all about talking this month. You might be feeling a little confrontational, but don’t worry — the Phil is waiting for you! Open the golden gates of the GMB and get swept up in the most incestuous crowd of them all… This month, Uranus retrogrades in Gemini, so watch out for any self-sabotage tendencies. Like spending your Thursday night soaked to the bone queuing up for another debate on the working class brought to you by Institute grads. The New Moon in Virgo, however, will guide you towards new conversations — you’ll find plenty of those in Ciss Maddens after hours.

Leo

You can’t escape your finances forever …. The Sun entering Virgo means that some budgeting will be needed. Yes, that includes the 3-for-8 deal on shots in the Pav. If you want your fresh start, a positive bank account balance might come in handy. Try borrowing a bottle of wine from a stranger’s pres — works like a charm! But if you get caught, don’t sweat it — Mars enters your sign on September 27th, so some breakthroughs and climaxes are in order. Whether this means flatcest or a Gay Spar chicken fillet roll — decide for yourself.

Virgo

Happy birthday! It’s your time to shine — be experimental, treat yourself, celebrate, get that Sprout bowl! The New Moon is in your sign on September 10th, and this means an incoming personal reset. Don’t forget that it was UT who toasted you first — maybe it’s time to join our writers? At University Times we celebrate each other year-round — and in exchange we offer an opportunity to make enemies with all of campus! Pav Friday has never been so thrilling! The stars definitely want you at UT, and I am definitely not being held at gunpoint writing this!

Libra

Libra, it’s time to hold your horses. September is all about slowing down and recharging — maybe choose the Halls pond over the sea swim. It’s the season of reflecting and prioritising time alone. You might have been experiencing some tension recently, so the Sun in Libra asks you to let it all go. Flat drama? Who cares! Let the rest of them clean the kitchen for once. Mouldy month-old pizza on the table? Leave it in their cupboard! The long-distance boyfriend is visiting? No worries, have the BESS students over to drown out the noise!

Scorpio

You are a true hustler. Seasonal depression has nothing on you — no sleep, bus, club, another club — you’re doing it all. This month is all about networking, be it through LinkedIn warriors or the Arts block bisexuals. At the end of the day, it is all about connections, and only one of these groups can get you tickets to an NCAD vernissage. Choose wisely. Meanwhile, Mercury enters Scorpio on September 30th, and you should invest more energy into yourself. With some dedication and perseverance, you might just find yourself in the next Campus Couture.

Sagittarius

There is a personal crisis awaiting you this month. You might be experiencing some confusion, disorientation and inner turmoil. A part of you might even be considering joining the Trinitones. This is okay. We are all desperate for community. Some more than others. The Full Moon on September 26th asks you to move on — embrace the present and stop glamorising the past. This includes your music teacher’s lies about your vocal range. Try sticking to TrinityFM to get a better chance at pretending that your Spotify Wrapped doesn’t include the Glee soundtrack.

Capricorn

The possibilities are endless! September for Capricorns is all about trying out new things and overcoming your fears. Try going to the Trinity gym and letting the entirety of Pearse Street watch you be defeated by a treadmill. Maybe audition for a DU Players production and get humbled by the theatre kids when you promptly realise they would outlive us all in the apocalypse. Really, the world is your oyster. With Mercury in Scorpio on September 30th, you should continue nurturing this collaborative spirit — just don’t be surprised when you have to face your Freshers Week friend group in a nightmare scenario.

Aquarius

Someone’s got a shady past! This September, your past mistakes and faux pas catch up to you. Whatever you said in that Freshers group chat back in August did not go over well …. Now is the time to make your peace with whatever’s been haunting you. The Fall Equinox represents healing, so make sure to forgive yourself. You can’t keep skipping that Thursday 9am forever. Even if you accidentally went out with your S2S mentor. In the meantime, try searching for redemption at the speed-friending events. You’ll definitely stumble upon a lost postgrad who’s doing much worse.

Pisces

This is your moment. All the summer Hinge endeavours paid off, and now you’re free to explore everything Trinners have to offer. Tringe is scared of you — they’ve never had to censor this many submissions. A New Moon in Virgo sets a focus on romance, and you don’t have to be told twice. The Pav is a great place to call home, but don’t get ahead of yourself – your JCR crush is not as reciprocated as you think, and you might end up starring in Instagram reels instead.
